If you wish to study in Austria and fulfil the general university entrance requirements you can apply for admission to a university or university of applied sciences. No professional recognition is required for this. Please contact the selected educational institution as the criteria for admission to the various universities differ.

The National Academic Recognition Information Centre, ENIC NARIC AUSTRIA Austria’s contact point for cross-border recognition queries in the university area, provides the option of having degrees assessed in accordance with Austrian criteria.

  • Graduation Diploma/Degree(s) (academic degrees) in original text with full diplomatic legalization
  • Certified german or english translation (of a sworn translator) of Diploma/Degree(s)
  • Transcript of Records (List of examination subjects, Credentials, Markslist) and if available Diploma Supplement belonging to the Graduation Diploma/Degree(s)
  • Confirmation of an Austrian residence (proof of residency by ZMR-print out)

Optional documents:

  • Certificate of Change of Name (eg marriage certificate)
  • Passport or Identity Card
  • Secondary School Leaving Certificate
  • University Entrance Examination
